Oh Hawaii – it’s that one place on the planet, where I feel like I’m coming home to myself, being enveloped in a feeling of being deeply alive & connected with nature & people in every sense. Sessions here are otherworldly and spark so much inspiration, joy and creative + personal growth. It’s where I started my journey into photography and where I hosted my first retreat back in 2016, with many following there (and around the world) after. O‘ahu is for sure a student favorite, which is why I’m offering another opportunity to make some magic here – my old home island of 15 years. Everyone should experience not only this place, but the magic of shooting here & the artistry it pulls from you.
This retreat will be geared toward heavy adventure and a lot of shooting, with round table editing & learning too. So bring those hiking shoes & swimsuit, with a thirsty soul for creating, bonding & learning with a group of like-minded women in paradise. There will be 4 shoots & weather permitting, I’m hoping to include at least one with a ridge hike involved.
As a bonus, my longtime favorite personal chef will be catering all meals; which typically are locally sourced, organic and unbelievably delicious. So after all the adventure, shooting & learning, you’ll also have time to to pamper yourself a bit with amazing meals, glass of wine & lots of laughs!
The Details
WHEN: April 10-12, 2026
Retreat begins at 2 pm on April 10, heading straight into a sunset shoot hike, with welcome dinner at the house after. Then concludes at 11 am on April 12, after our last sunrise shoot & breakfast.
WHERE: Kaʻaʻawa, Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi
The Honolulu airport is the airport to fly into. Attendees are encouraged to carpool & will have an opportunity to connect ahead of time in the private attendee Facebook group.
WHAT’S INCLUDED
- 4 family, motherhood & couples sessions
- Island adventure!! Exploring some of my most favorite beaches, hikes, waterfalls & island locations after living there for 15 years
- Hands-on help with creating, finessing & marketing video as an add-on to your photo sessions
- Start to finish editing techniques for: bold/colorful, filmy/earthy & hybrid styles (as I utilize all)
- Inspired & nourishing meals by my favorite personal chef + snacks, red wine & coffee
- Modest island lodging at a yoga retreat with 2 shared queen beds & 6 single twin beds (first come basis on arrival for bed selection)
- Working through challenging and diverse lighting situations & identifying most powerful use of light to enhance you imagery
- Creative concepting & applications for growth – getting out of your comfort zone
- Thought processes, styling, location selection, settings, gear – pretty much everything that goes on behind creating our work.
- Roundtable editing, where I’ll walk around the room to offer help & answer questions
